The Old Union Canals Society was founded in 1964 to promote all aspects of canals particularly the two local 'Union' canals, the Old Union (the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Union) from Leicester to Market Harborough, and the original Grand Union from Foxton to Norton Junction. The canal is currently known by British Waterways as the Grand Union (Leicester Line) which also includes the River Soar from Leicester to the River Trent. Registered Charity Number 510361 |
